TEACHING

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

My main aims as an educator are to promote interest in the biological sciences via a number of different teaching techniques that let each individual student take control of their own learning experience. My hope is that by being a positive role model with a clear and concise teaching style, the students will improve their own written and spoken communication skills, as this is a vital component of all future careers.

One of my major goals as an educator is to equip students with the understanding of how to learn. Students learn in many different ways, and I find classes that incorporate visual, verbal, and practical elements to the syllabus are the most effective. All classes attempt to provide a chance to foster collaboration, and allow for hypothesis and research driven questions.
